Miles of Books

   Hi, I'm Miles Tran.  I am in my junior year of high school in Katy, TX.  I live with my parents and a younger sister. 

   My mom is an Assistant Principal at Royal Elementary School.  One evening, she came home and told us that many teachers at her school did not have many children's books available for students to read; that there was a desperate need for books!  I had an epiphany!

   Late November 2018, I passed out flyers throughout my neighborhood, asking for donation of gently-used books.    The neighborhood responded!  Many were eager to help. In that first week, I collected more than 200 books!

   After this first successful book drive, I realized that I can make a difference.  My mom always tells me being able to read is one of the most important life skills.  For that I decided to found an organization, dedicated to helping students read.  I am proud to be the founder of Miles of Books. Together, we can help children around the world, one book at a time!
